From September 10 – 11, 2025, Woodoaks Farm in Hertfordshire hosted the Agroforestry Show, an inspiring two-day gathering of farmers, researchers, advisors, and innovators eager to bridge theory and practice in tree-integrated farming systems.
The ReForest project was proud to be a sponsor of this event and to host the Training Hub, where visitors could explore hands-on sessions, tool demos from the project, and engaging talks with the project partners.

On day one, passersby at the Hub encountered a live one-on-one demonstration of the dynamic management tool. On day two, this tool was featured in the Hub’s presentation, “Does it Stack Up?” by Dr. Prajna Kasargodu Anebagilu. The session introduced the Decision Analysis approach and probabilistic modeling, based on which the dynamic management tool was developed, and encouraged attendees to explore whether agroforestry could deliver long-term benefits for their farm layout using the tool and to identify which of the four cataloged systems would be the best fit.

One of the most memorable aspects of the show was the guided walking tour through Woodoaks’ woodland and agroforestry setups, which highlighted the ongoing efforts to protect, restore, and enhance the woodlands. The tour brought to life the challenges and successes of on-farm agroforestry, making abstract ideas tangible for participants.
The value of the Show lay in the knowledge that UK farmers shared how they adapt their practices to shifting markets, fluctuating climate conditions, and uncertainty. Vendors and suppliers of agroforestry-related equipment, plants, and services were also present, offering participants practical solutions and demonstrations of tools and machinery to take back to their farms, alongside the Advice Hub.
All in all, the Agroforestry Show 2025 at Woodoaks was more than just a gathering; it was a vibrant exchange of knowledge, tools, and ideas, with ReForest playing a key role in showing how decision support tools can help farmers and land managers decide whether and how agroforestry can really “stack up” in their systems.
