NIFAM Recognised at the 2026 Society of Decision Professionals Conference
The 32nd Annual Society of Decision Professionals (SDP) Conference and Workshops took place in Boston from March 24–26, 2026. This year’s theme, “Decision Leadership in the Age of Intelligent Systems,” focused on how artificial intelligence and human decision-making can work together to improve outcomes across different sectors.
The conference brought together professionals and researchers from a wide range of fields, including energy, healthcare, and finance. With over 50 speakers, the event offered a mix of presentations, workshops, and discussions aimed at strengthening decision-making approaches in complex environments. It also provided valuable opportunities for networking and exchange during sessions such as the Welcome Reception.
We are pleased to share that NIFAM’s work was recognised at the conference. The NIFAM poster received the Best Applied Decision Science Case award, highlighting the project’s contribution to practical and applied decision-making in food systems.
In addition, Dr. Cory Whitney was awarded the Early Career Researcher Award, recognising his contributions to decision science and research.
These recognitions reflect the growing importance of combining scientific research with practical tools to support better decisions in agriculture and food systems.
Above are a few highlights from the conference, including Dr. Cory Whitney with Prof. Dr. Johannes Ulrich Siebert, winner of the SDP Education Award, and the award-winning poster.
